The Home Depot Inc. will pay $125,000 to settle a racial harassment and retaliation lawsuit that alleged the retailer subjected a former night crew lumberman/forklift operator to a racially hostile work environment at its Saugus, Mass., store and fired him in retaliation for complaining. The suit was filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and arose from a charge filed on behalf of former Home Depot employee Mark Reid by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law of the Boston Bar Association. .
