PBL is referred to as Publishing & Broadcasting & Litigation these days so little wonder the legal community is falling over itself to curry favour with the gambling and media enterprise's senior operatives. No less than four law firms invited PBL staff along to a lunch featuring the Communications Minister, Helen Coonan, at the Hilton yesterday. And why not? There's enough work - what with the One.Tel case, Kerry Stokes's C7 extravaganza and everyone at Channel Nine suing everybody else - to keep a small army of lawyers in cufflinks. Gilbert + Tobin partner Garry Besson led the charge. He invited Nine executive Jeff "Buckets" Browne as well as PBL's chief operating officer Pat O'Sullivan and general counsel Guy Jalland. Jalland is the lucky fellow who runs all the lawyering for PBL.
