Senate President-elect Ken Pruitt will have to answer questions about his knowledge of an attack-ad campaign against state Rep. Paige Kreegel, a judge ordered this week. But Circuit Judge Donald Pellecchia limited the scope of questions to only the allegations Kreegel raised in a defamation lawsuit he filed a year ago against a group of political consultants and lobbyists. Pruitt has no knowledge or involvement in the funding, preparation or dissemination of the negative advertisements that targeted Kreegel in his 2004 election, according to a motion by Pruitt's attorney, Ron Meyer of Tallahassee. Pruitt has a connection to some of the people who were involved in the ad campaign, including Randy Nielsen of the West Palm Beach political consulting firm Public Concepts, and Richard Gentry, chief lobbyist for the Florida Home Builders Association.
