University of Colorado President Hank Brown will meet in the next few weeks with a former student who alleges she was raped by members of the CU football team. Lisa Simpson was one of three women who claimed they were raped at a boozy off-campus party on Dec. 7, 2001. Their charges led to the resignation of top athletic department officials following a widespread investigation. In March, a federal judge dismissed a suit filed by the women against CU, but they appealed to reinstate the case on Friday. Simpson told interviewers over the weekend that she wants Brown to understand the women's ordeal. "It would be a wonderful thing for him to - if he could just acknowledge that was a problem," Simpson told 9News in a voice that broke with emotion. "That's all I wanted in the first place was to make sure it didn't happen to other women." Brown has invited Simpson and her parents to meet with him, said CU spokesman Ken McConnellogue.
