MOUNT CLEMENS -- The Macomb County Bar Association on Wednesday released its members' rankings of seven candidates running for the first open Circuit Court seat in four years. Lawyer David Viviano led the pack with a rating of 3.86 on a 5-point scale, in which 1 is poor and 5 is excellent. The other candidates scored as follows: Carrie L. Fuca, 3.71; Kenneth M. Mattson 3.70; Paul B. Addis, 3.24; John J. Latella, 3.06; James C. Bishai; 2.80; and Andrea J. Ferrara, 1.53. The 336 respondents -- all Macomb County lawyers who belong to the bar association -- evaluated candidates in five areas, including legal analysis, trial skills and temperament. "These are the colleagues of the people running for judge and know them the best," said Jacob Femminineo Jr., president of the bar.
