One of the more remarkable episodes of public theatre took place in the Town Hall Meeting Room last Thursday when a lawyer for "a man who wasn't there" skirmished with the Board of Ethics, town lawyer John Wayne Fox and RTMers, pointing fingers at one their own accused of having "a conflict of interest." This involved the unusual case of town social worker Nick Edwards, RTM-8, whose alleged untoward behavior in the RTM and on the RTM Health and Human Services Committee (HSS) over the last two years didn't sit well with Gerald Isaacson, chairman, and a handful of other committee members -- two of whom no longer are on the RTM. Edwards, "the man who wasn't there," was the "accused," and his lawyer, Thomas M. Cassone of Stamford, could make neither heads nor tails out of the complaint signed by Isaacson last March.
