On the day of his alleged victim's funeral, 17-year-old Frankie Adan Montoya became a man - at least in the eyes of the law. Prosecutors on Friday filed adult charges of first-degree murder against Montoya for the shooting one week ago today that killed 30-year-old Barbara Alcon. Meanwhile, a crowd of mourners estimated at about 300 attended a memorial service for Alcon at St. Mary Catholic Church. Because Montoya was charged as an adult, visiting District Judge Ruthann Polidori granted a request from The Pueblo Chieftain's lawyers to reverse an earlier order prohibiting the newspaper from publishing Montoya's name and photograph. Montoya is accused of shooting Alcon at point-blank range with a .45-caliber handgun inside her residence, 1804 E. 13th St.
