GLASGOW, Scotland, July 31 (UPI) -- One of Scotland's leading criminal lawyers got a broken nose when a client allegedly punched him during a consultation just before the man's sentencing. David Callaghan allegedly attacked Paul McBride when the lawyer told him that he was facing a long sentence for beating and raping a woman in Glasgow while he was on parole after serving an assault sentence. McBride also had bruises from the assault. McBride told The Scotsman that he could have used a cell with a partition to talk to Callaghan but he did not feel that he was in danger. "I've never heard of anything like this happening to senior counsel in 20 years," he said. "Everyone, including the police, was completely shocked by it. I'm a little bit shaken, to be honest.
