The writer fools very few people with his letter arguing that "most immigration lawyers don't represent illegal aliens but only good people." That must be why AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) has been such a strong supporter of illegal-alien amnesty legislation. It explains why immigration lawyers' influence on the AgJobs Amnesty provided legal help for illegal aliens at public expense. It explains why "pro-amnesty" members of Congress such as Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, receive such strong campaign donations from immigration lawyers' lobbies. Immigration lawyers don't represent illegal aliens, but they do represent "immigrants" seeking a "change of status" (otherwise known as "amnesty"). Immigration lawyers don't handle "change of status" for nothing.
