The inquiry into last year's crash of a Navy Sea King helicopter has wrapped up in Sydney, after hearing from more than 100 witnesses. Nine people were killed when the helicopter crashed on the Indonesian island of Nias. The Board of Inquiry began investigating the crash exactly one year ago today at a cost to the military of more than $5 million. Over the past year witnesses have told the inquiry that the crash happened because the helicopter's flight controls had not been repaired properly. The father of one of the men killed in the crash, Ray Kimlin, says it has been an emotional 12 months for his family. "Some days we went away quite upset of what we heard for the day, but I'm just thankful that the Board of Inquiry looked into everything very deeply and didn't leave a stone unturned," he said.
