MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Mesaba Airlines and its unions are playing "Russian roulette" with the carrier's future by failing to negotiate new labor contracts, U.S. District Judge Michael Davis says.During a court hearing, Mesaba attorney Michael Meyer urged the judge to uphold a bankruptcy judge's ruling allowing Mesaba to cut wages and impose new work rules on its pilots, flight attendants and mechanics.Union lawyers argued that U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Gregory Kishel's ruling was erroneous and said Mesaba withheld financial information needed to evaluate the scope of the company's labor cuts. The union lawyers also said Mesaba had not bargained in good faith.Meyer maintained that Mesaba had fulfilled all legal requirements, and said Kishel was correct in approving Mesaba's motion."Both sides ought to talk, but can't talk for some reason," Davis said.
