A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), in Lagos, Chief Hammed Hassan-Olajokun has identified the recent political assassinations of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirants, Engr. Funsho Williams and Dr. Ayodeji Daramola of Lagos and Ekiti States respectively, as the offshoot of man's desperation for power. Hassan-Olajokun, who spoke in Lagos, while fielding questions from newsmen, said political assassination was another aspect which the Nigeria Police Force should beam their security lights to, adding that the act was "also part of a desperation of people to get power at all cost and it is not good for our country". When asked if the killings would make him abandon politics he said "not at all, I believe everything is in the hand of God and I submitted my life to God for guidance".
