NEW PORT RICHEY - Two St. Petersburg lawyers are facing off in the race to fill a newly created circuit judgeship that is likely to be based in Pasco County. Jack Day, with 29 years of experience, began his career as a prosecutor and says his practice has included all facets of the legal profession. Robert "Bo" Michael, with 21 years of experience, was a public defender early in his career and says he has extensive courtroom experience, most of it during his eight months as an assistant state attorney general. Day, 57, was born in Tampa and grew up in St. Petersburg. He earned his undergraduate degree in English at the University of Florida, studied humanities at Emory University as a graduate student and returned to UF to get his law degree.
