E&Y Italy has been hit by the departure of 16 lawyers from its legal and tax arm, including its chairman Paolo Tanoni. According to Legal Week, Tanoni is considering forming a standalone firm and believes 10-15 lawyers will join him. Tanoni said he resigned because of insufficient investment by the firm in its 95-lawyer Italian legal arm. He told Legal Week: ‘I leave on good terms and have many friends at Ernst & Young, but they simply do not want to invest enough in the legal practice.’ ....
