Sharon worked as a nurse in both acute and long-term care settings prior to attending law school. In 1986, she graduated magna cum laude from The University of Notre Dame Law School. She has practiced law since that time and is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Sharon is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization that recognizes lawyers who have achieved million dollar verdicts or settlements for their clients. In addition, she is AV rated, the highest ranking possible in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. In 2003, Sharon received the Judith P.
