Ms. Rader practices in the areas of school law, labor and employment, and litigation. Her practice emphasizes counseling employers and administrators regarding compliance with applicable state and federal laws, and employment and commercial litigation in Arizona and Nevada state and federal court. She has represented school districts and charter schools on a wide variety of issues including investigations and negotiations related to alleged violations of the Open Meeting Law, special education due process hearings, notices of intent to revoke charters, and litigation involving personnel matters. She has advised public employers on constitutional matters, personnel issues, student rights, conflicts of interest, open meeting law, due process under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and public records issues. She also has represented public and private entities before federal and state administrative agencies and in state and federal court in Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Her recent experience includes conducting investigations related to non-compliance issues and employee allegations of sexual harassment, misconduct and discrimination on the basis of age, sex, and race for various school districts, charter schools and businesses; and conducting investigations into alleged teacher and classified staff misconduct. In addition, Ms. Rader has provided training to employers and school administrators regarding personnel policies and handbooks, employee discipline and termination, IDEA, FERPA, and student and employee harassment and discrimination.
